Musicals & Operas

On this page, you’ll find an overview of several productions I’ve worked on, highlighting my experience as both an Assistant Stage Manager and Lead Stage Manager over the past few years. You’ll also find a selection of paperwork samples that showcase a range of materials from various productions. Additional examples are available upon request.

The Prom

The Prom was produced at Illinois State University in March 2025, and it marked my first experience as a lead Stage Manager for a musical. This production was one of the most immersive and technically complex shows I’ve worked on to date. It featured a rotating set, spotlight cues, fly cues, accompaniment tracks,

a live conductor, confetti effects, and advanced quick changes. Managing so many moving parts challenged me to grow as both a communicator and leader, and it deepened my appreciation for collaboration across all areas of production.

In Pieces: A New Musical

In Pieces: A New Musical was produced at Illinois State University in March 2024. I served as one of two Assistant Stage Managers on the production. One of the most challenging aspects of this show was managing the rolling scaffolding units that were part of the set design. These pieces had roughly fourteen different positions throughout the performance to represent various locations. To ensure consistency and precision, our team relied on lettered ground plans as reference for each scene shift.

Hansel & Gretel (opera)

Hansel & Gretel was an opera produced at Illinois State University in February 2023. I served as one of two Assistant Stage Managers on the production. Although the cast rarely left the stage, I gained valuable experience operating the trap elevator used for the Witch’s death. The trap incorporated LED lights and a fog machine, and it was my responsibility to ensure all effects were functioning properly. I also worked closely with the technical team to prevent fog from drifting into the orchestra pit during live performance.
